Who wouldn't want to know their destiny, fate and future?
Composer Henri Sauguet will help us answer these burning questions with the help of cartomancy (card reading), astrology, and chiromancy (palm reading).
The suspenseful "Card Trio" from Bizet's Carmen -sung by our young artists from The Glenn Gould School - leaves us wondering what the future will hold… until the very last note!
The concert will also feature a gripping musical clairvoyance "competition" with a face-off between Debussy and Ravel.

Tribute to Mnemosyne, Goddess of Memory
Oh! Those Greek gods!! When Zeus disguised himself as a shepherd to seduce Mnemosyne, the goddess of memory, their nine fruitful nights spent together resulted in the birth of the nine muses - our symbols of inspiration and creativity.
With Mnemosyne, mother of muses, as our guide, we travel back in time to enter the land of memories through musical masterpieces by Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Debussy, Ravel, Satie, and Valentin Bibik.
Were these composers demi-gods or humans or… perhaps both?
Readings from the composers’ memoirs will help us decide.

Mozart in 3D
Mozart is perhaps the most mysterious of musical geniuses. You’ve likely heard of the “Mozart effect” that has anxious new parents believing that exposure to Mozart in utero helps to develop genius in their babies. Well, research has shown (and we’re eager to believe it!) that in the animal kingdom, the sound of Mozart’s music increases milk production and improves hen fertility.
We will meet Mozart the man and Mozart the composer through opera excerpts, chamber music and pieces for piano four hands in order to uncover a 3D panoramic view of his time.
Who knows?
Perhaps immortal Mozart, bored of sitting on his throne on musical Mount Olympus, will decide to grace Toronto with his presence at Off Centre? Stranger things have happened...
