There is a moment in most performers’ lives when they cross the line from anonymity to being someone to watch. That moment may be right now for 24-year-old mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta.
On Sunday, she sings with Off Centre Music Salon at the Glenn Gould Studio alongside golden-voiced soprano Shannon Mercer, Canadian Opera Company concertmaster Marie Bérard and pianists Inna Perkis and Boris Zarankin. The intimate program is all about Pauline Viardot and Robert Schumann. Zarankin and Perkis have proven over their 15 years as artistic directors of Off Centre that they have a nose for fine young talent.
